Description

These photos capture the underrated beauty that is wintertime in Rocky Mountain National Park. In spite of cold, icy conditions, wildlife and serene natural beauty continue to thrive - young bull elk sparring in the snow, testing strength before spring; clusters of mountain goats navigating icy slopes with unreal ease; and wide, cold panoramic vistas. The silence of winter in the mountains is broken only by the cold winds as you walk across the frozen Dream Lake. Elk herds graze before breathtaking alpine views. Wildlife and terrain breathe together as one. These photos capture an trip I will never forget, and I am proud to have experienced only but a taste of what this park has to offer.
